#BBCNews at pains to interview a freed Israeli hostage of Hamas (the final one?), who can now get on with his life.
How many Palestinians are not able to get on with their lives, buried under rubble, forced out of their Gaza & West Bank homes, forcibly marched around Gaza.
Y'know, BBC, balance.

The temerity of water companies to argue that warer bills need to rise to pay for vital infrastructure changes is breathtaking. There might be a degree of credibility if they weren't paying out billions in dividends & millions in salaries & and bonuses, but they are, so there isn't.
Thieves. Liars.

Your water bills are going up, again.

Why? Because private companies think you should pay the price for their negligence and greed.

It’s time to end the privatisation rip-off and bring water back into public ownership, now!

I've never been to the US and in the current climate, have no intention of doing so. If ever things improve & I change my mind, it's people like those below I want to meet, not bile-spitting epsilon-minus Trump sycophants
This is Minneapolis.

Collective trauma, and neighbors helping neighbors.

This is our 24/7 every day lives right now, not just a 10 second news clip.

"Scaffle Pike", #BBCNews?!
I thought you had a pronunciation department.
I understand "Scaffle Pike" is up north - on the way to Carlizley.
Why don't you ask 'a northerner' (and, indeed, many southerners) how to pronounce it?

#BBCNews There are more important things happening in this world than the media's confected story about an alleged Labour leadership challenge. 10pm lead story? I don't think so.
Murders in the Gaza 'ceasefire'; Russia's continuing attack on Ukraine; Extrajudicial murders in Minneapolis to name 3.

I know, Donny, call it the Gulf of Trump's Arse.
I reckon you'd get almost universal approval. 😁
Trump: "I was gonna call it the Gulf of Trump, but I thought I would be killed if I did that. I wanted to."

In honor of lasting one full year in office, @governor.ca.gov Gavin Newsom today awarded Donald Trump the California Peace Prize. Please join us in congratulating Daddy’s Little Helper!

Hey, orange psycho president, there are THREE certainties in life:
Death
Taxes and
You, NEVER being awarded a Nobel Peace Prize (like President Barak Obama was).
🤣

Dear US military, to execute legally an order to invade another country, it has to be approved by congress.
Remember that, when you start pointing your weapons at your NATO friends in Canada, Greenland and Iceland as ordered by Trump.
With any luck, your next-to-seniormost commanders will stop him.

Gianni Infantino has his work cut out trying to sort out SenegalMorocco. What he needs is a peacemaker.
I know the very person!
Trumpy!
Newly awarded a peace prize but mindful of war.
Let's persuade him to invade, to sort them out.
Then he can have the Africa Cup of Nations for his trophy wing. Yay!

In 1916, the US was worried that Germany might take control of the Danish West Indies to use as a submarine base. So, Denmark sold the Danish West Indies to the USA, with the colony becoming the US Virgin Islands. In exchange, the USA acknowledged Denmark's complete sovereignty over Greenland.

It simply *has* to be very high on Putin's wishlist that his biggest opponent on the planet, NATO, just disappears.

Trump is doing his level best to make that happen for his pal.
January 17, 2026 at 9:23 PM
Dear USA, we in Europe have been pals with you for a long time. We *have* had a chequered history but that is in the past. Millions of you have roots in Europe but our friendship is at risk. Trump will divide us for his own ego. We don't want that & you don't either.
Time to get rid of his regime.

The world views the Nobel committee as an august body that does a very good job in recognising the best in human achievement. You'd expect it to take a principled stand over the awards it makes - and so it has proved.
An award is not a commodity to be traded: to try to do so is to demean oneself.

Dear BBC, do you remember Robin Day interviewing John Nott in 1982? I do. Day had the measure of politicians and their duplicity, referring to Nott, Defence Secretary, as a "here today, gone tomorrow" politician. Nott left the studio on the spot & his job within months.
Can we move on from Jenrick?
January 15, 2026 at 6:12 PM
Dear US military, Europe & the US have been pals for many years now, sharing common ground against our opponents in the east. We'd be sad to see you renege on our agreement to help each other but if the order comes from POTUS and not Congress, it would be illegal & in contravention of your oath...

We have to classify, X, Facebook and the rest of the tech platforms as ”publishers“, legally responsible for everything that appears. It’s unnaceptable that they hide behind their users & use the “nothing to do with me, guv” defence.

They make untold billions.

It’s up to THEM to police their sites

Frostadóttir - what a great name for an Icelandic woman! We need more of this, people! Suggestions?

Yes, I know it's pathetic but god knows - we need a bit of levity in politics right now.

I wish you every success, Kristrún.
Great to welcome Kristrún Frostadóttir in Brussels.

Our EU-Iceland partnership offers stability and predictability in a volatile world.

How DARE water companies like South East Water blame inadequate infrastructure for their failure to deliver clean water to homes!
They've had thirty years of customers paying through the nose for infrastructure upgrades but the money as gone on unearned dividends and bonuses.
FRAUD.
JAIL the execs.

There are plenty of people born & raised in Britain who *are* British (as opposed to *feeling* British) that you & your party would be only too happy to send back to their 'ethnic homeland' because their skin isn't white.
Moronic hypocrite, Zahawi.
Keep an eye on your fascist backstabbing 'pals'.
January 12, 2026 at 7:22 PM
Hahaha! Farage is collecting the worst of the last batch of Tory governments and Zahawi is the latest 'coup'.
With his MPs and councillors slowly migrating to HMPrisons, Reform maxing out council tax rises and him nailing his colours to the Trump/Musk mast, how could he be more appealing?
Epstein?
