For years I wondered what the dead boss in Monster Party for NES was meant to be.
The manual says it's a giant spider. Except it's not. It looks like a lizard.

One of my favorite games ever
I'm working on an update for l'Abbaye des Morts (2010).
I don't want to change much because this game is intended to be super raw technically and it's a classic with tons of editions for retro systems. But I feel that a couple of tweaks could make it more enjoyable.

In Super Mario World, green berries increase the timer. By strategically eating them to make the timer pass 100 multiple times, the music can be sped up repeatedly. It turns out that the music engine cannot handle more than 20 speed-ups, and slows down to a crawl instead.
