Fellow Calcuttan writer/editor Archita Mittra is in desperate need of financial help. She recently lost her father, her home was damaged in the recent rains, & her mother's in hospital. They don't have insurance, & she's a freelancer. I can vouch for her. Please share widely & donate:

My story, “Patchwork Boy,” is now available to read at Crow & Cross Keys. I am so happy that this piece found such a loving home. Thank you again to @keychild.bsky.social for being an editor extraordinaire! 🪡
You might not have noticed, but the tower isn't just made of stone. Look closely and you'll find a bit of everything cobbled together. Not unlike the subject of today's flash fiction...

Running low on copies of Gardener, my big weird space western, so I’m doing a bit of a sale for it. Use code BIGGARDENERSALE on the site for 30% off, but only until next week!

If you like slow-burn, character driven sci-fi, this one’s for you. And it just so happens to be a big fancy hardcover too

My velvet worm Aurelio was a war-steed once; retired now, he still snorts and spits for battle. I keep a strong hand on the reins as we take the longest road to the sea. I have never seen it before (neither has he, I think) but we both need a holiday. Peace is new. We are strangers to her.
In the Kingdom of Grass, intrepid Meadowfolk tame insects to ride. Grasshoppers, bees, spiders—dangerous to befriend and train, but strong steeds and loyal friends to those who succeed. With an insect mount, all four corners of the world are open. Where do you go?
