I've logged on every few hours today for just a couple minutes and every time there's been another document that would have been a months long news cycle not that long ago

Violent rhetoric is not only strongly embedded in our cultural expression, it is an extremely well-known phenomenon that people consistently rate violent rhetoric used against them and people they like as significantly more severe than violent rhetoric used against people they dislike.

three-cueing? more like pee-pooing am I right
ever since I learned about three-cueing I've developed infinitely more patience for replies on social media. mfers literally do not know how to read. people are walking around conjuring random meanings into words they don't know, and they don't know a lot of words. it's crazy

good article! I've always preferred Ulta to Sephora
- rewards program is the best of basically anywhere I shop, regardless of category
- does real meaningful sales and offers coupons
- the ability to see and try things in store helps me be less wasteful
- hasn't (afaik) killed DEI
For the cover of Businessweek’s December issue, I wrote about the reigning queen of America’s strip malls: Ulta Beauty, the country’s biggest beauty retailer (yes, bigger than Sephora) and quietly one of the more fascinating retailers in the country. Gift link: www.bloomberg.com/news/feature...
How Beauty Behemoth Ulta Conquered the American Strip Mall
The retailer built an $11 billion business by acting more like Home Depot than like Sephora.

if you understand how to write a decent email and how to track things in neat spreadsheets you already have two valuable skills for community organizing

okay I'm done letting myself freak out about politics tonight and have moved on to compartmentalizing until I am ready to process angst into productivity 🙂‍↕️

okay I'm calming down a bit and while it doesn't make me any happier about what happened tonight, the chances of this making it through the house are super low, right?

11. Jeanne Shaheen. Retiring. Please replace her with someone who doesn't suck, NH.

12. Tina Smith. I like her. Leave her alone.

13. Mark Warner. Kaine almost certainly took this vote instead of Warner, and VA is angry and should be very blue next fall. Easy primary!

4. John Hickenlooper. Squishy moderate from what is now a very blue state (CO). May have been involved behind the scenes. Primary.

5. Ben Ray Lujan. Usually pretty good, actually, I'd leave him alone.

6. Ed Markey. Generally a good Senator but too old. Please do not replace with Seth Moulton.

2. Chris Coons. This guy sucks! This guy has always sucked! Wanted to go home for valentine's day rather than call witnesses after J6. Delaware is incredibly safe and deserves better. Easy primary.

3. Dick Durbin. Retiring. Still want to primary him just out of general principle.

okay, so, with Dems successfully keeping anyone up in 2026 for voting for this turd let's take a look at who's up in 2026 anyway:

1. Cory Booker - apparently involved behind the scenes, constantly looking for bipartisanship. I don't dislike him personally but he doesn't have what we need. Primary.
