sorry to the IT guys who "worked around the clock" and "busted your asses" to prevent this disaster but if you didn't want us to forget about it and write the entire panic off as a quirky cultural fad 20-ish years later maybe you should have let a plane or two go down
People feared the computer glitch would mean "the end of the world as we know it." Thankfully, Y2K didn't live up to the hype after years and billions of dollars were spent on painstaking preparation.
