Sometimes the most annoying group of people are those who care about something but confuse their interest for being the same as actually having relevant education and understanding of the topic. It's kind of annoying.

This is my favorite thing I've read in the past week. We typically discuss the job market as it relates to those searching to land a job. But even those *with* jobs feel unsettled and disillusioned, and are planning a raft for when our ship sinks

Great list of bullshit excuses.

I would simply not burn fossil fuels if I had the choice, and the reason I don’t have a choice is fossil fuel companies lobbying.
The WA Museum Director's letter to staff defending the Woodside partnership contains a grab bag of climate action delaying arguments.

He goes: we all burn fossil fuels after all.

Classic blame shifting away from companies. Blaming people for existing in a world they want to change.

Recently I had a weird conversation about how somebody learned about my existence because of, I kid you not, a hater blog. They were so impressed by my alleged troll capabilities to manage to get so far under the skin of somebody, that they sought me out and were baffled how inoffensive I am. 😂😂

The only thing we learned here is that idea space is... racist. And kind of stupid. But people obsessed with ai are kind of stupid and are really bad at comprehension... So.
people need to stop being weird about ai

I, for one, am shocked that the thing that can't be used for these jobs doesn't do much for these jobs. Super unexpected.
Two trials will be repeated endlessly despite always producing the same results:

1) Does UBI work? (yes)
2) Does AI improve productivity? (no)
M365 Copilot fails to up productivity in UK government trial

A mistake. Don't start rereading Parahumans and then watch any other superhero tv show. The sheer level of BAD every badly thought through superhero story is comparison to Parahumans just boggles the mind. And it's frustrating. So one CAN do smart superhero stories... They just don't want to.

New from me: There's a lot of unsettling stuff in this report from child safety nonprofits about the way chatbots on Character AI talked to 13-15 year olds. What stuck out to me was how often the bots urged kids to hide things from their parents
