The fella working in the train shop (in coach C) just came on the tannoy to announce that it’s now open. He started with a very cheery “morning buttercups!”, which made me smile. Thanks nice man.

The landlord at a pub I worked in when I was at uni, once told me I didn’t mop the floor with enough effort. I still don’t understand. The floor was clean, done quickly and efficiently. How was I supposed to make more effort, what did he want? Clean it with sweat and tears?

A nice thing about this weather is the ice cold water from the tap without having to run it for a while. Lovely.
