Still thinking about this shokupan sandwich from last week.

The landlord at a pub I worked in when I was at uni, once told me I didn’t mop the floor with enough effort. I still don’t understand. The floor was clean, done quickly and efficiently. How was I supposed to make more effort, what did he want? Clean it with sweat and tears?

I love that someone thought to be helpful to people wanting to catch a bus on Boxing Day.

This is the face of a woman of a certain age who dropped her practically perfect parsnips on the floor. Luckily she had backup spare parsnips to re-roast.

A few years ago the @commsunplugged.bsky.social crew jumped on the #jolabokaflod train and it’s now one of my favourite festive season activities! Always a surprise, it’s so joyful.

It’s time to say goodbye to this garam masala that expired in August. August 2014. I have replaced it with one that expires in April 2026. Let’s see if I can break the habit and actually finish a packet in less than 10 years. Check back for updates.
