Norm isn't the Mayor of Minneapolis but he's doing more than the Mayor of Minneapolis and he's willing to give up more than the Mayor of Minneapolis so if we ever get back to voting again, we need to remember who deserves to lead and who should pay for allowing this to happen
Only speaking personally, but today’s execution isn’t scaring me from protecting our neighbors, as some suggest is ICE’s goal. Nor am I angry with incandescent rage, in that I know such rage is unhelpful. Rather, I feel like it has forced me to truly accept that the same fate might befall me.

Doug TenNapel tried to get me fired from a job because he namesearched on Twitter and saw me lamenting finding out he was a gutter bigot. He was my childhood hero btw
Hey, if you need a reason to not support any upcoming Earthworm Jim stuff.....you can go on X, The Torment App and see the creator Doug TenNapel talk about how great AI is and quote tweeting everyone who disagrees.
I wouldn't suggest it though.

As tens of thousands across America protest the violence that ICE sows with impunity, federal agents shot and killed another person in Minneapolis today.

ICE terrorizes our cities. ICE puts us all in danger. Abolish ICE.

From this moment forward (and before, but clearly now):

-If you work for ICE.
-If you vote for money for ICE.

You are complicit. This is the gestapo. You're on the wrong side. You can't pretend not to know.

I am devastated to learn of another person being killed by federal immigration agents in Minnesota. We aren't safer when unidentified agents can terrorize & even kill people without ramifications.

I promise to do everything in my power to hold this admin accountable, but it will take all of us.

The forced divestiture has always been "how dare you, only WE are allowed to spy on users like this" Sinophobia, but that doesn't make TikTok any less spyware. If you've been okay using the spyware app for this long, well, now you know more about why so many of us call it spyware.

This change is because the new owners are operating in a jurisdiction that requires them to disclose it, not because of any change to the app behavior. This change is simply describing what they've been doing all along!

They've always embedded your hardware/device ID in requests sent to TikTok's servers and in uploaded videos. They've always done biometric analysis of uploaded videos. They've always done scroll tracking to see which videos you stop on. Etc, etc.

The reason people find TikTok so appealing is because their algorithm is so personalized, and the only way they can do that is through collecting massive, and I mean MASSIVE, amounts of data about every visitor to the site.

TikTok has been doing this since the very beginning, the new ownership just involves a change of venue that means they have to put it in the privacy policy now. The app has always been spyware with some short videos on top; it's why all their IPs are blocked at the DNS level on all my devices.
They're admitting to reading your Private Messages AND your DRAFTS.

If you type it, they can read it.
Doesn't matter if you never sent it.
