Everyone puts plastic bags inside other plastic bags, re-uses Country Crock or whatever plastic tubs to store leftovers, and puts the letter "S" on the end of store names!! Do you really think that only people in "American Region X" do those things??

foreign country buys $1 million in soybeans, they get soybeans
foreign country spends $1 million on American college tuition, those students live here, spend money here, their research benefits American institutions, they leave with a positive view of America, etc.

it's hugely valuable for us!
So many own goals.
Once again: higher ed is one of our most successful exports. We export more higher ed to China than soybeans. And yet Trump and the mini-Trumps are deliberately destroying the quality of our product

Oklahoma City, if I never go back it'll be too soon
there's one city in the united states that really sucks. it has not a single redeeming quality and everyone there is, i believe, godless. but you're not gonna catch me being honest about this city on my podcast until i've made sure i'm either offline for a few weeks or i don't care

"A young conservative went on to change her mind as an adult" is an extremely common life path IRL, but on here, an amazing number of people seem to assume it's unfathomable. If you think people can't interrogate their inherited beliefs, that suggests *you've* never done so
