Rachel Handlin is possibly the first person with Down syndrome to receive an MFA, and one of few to hold a bachelor’s degree. Her first solo show features portraits of people with Down syndrome across the globe who have graduated from two- or four-year colleges. nyti.ms/3OVlkp9

And each new cohort of nurses will continue to suffer the consequences because these learning-resistant a-holes at the top refuse to mandate masking in healthcare settings and invest in air purification. Masking is a tool of the trade. SARS2 & other viruses are still debilitating people. Mask up!
'It is widely recognised that HCWs, including nurses, are at greater risk of contracting Covix and subsequently Long Covid. This report gives a snapshot of our members’ experiences including snapshots that illustrate the life-changing financial, emotional and physical consequences"
Nurses with Long Covid being let down by employers, survey reveals
A survey conducted by the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) has revealed insufficient support from employers for nurses suffering from long-COVID.

ME: [extremely burnt out] I need to take the day off to relax

ALSO ME: I wonder if there is a way that I could relax that would be more productive

I’m new to being out as #queer. What’s the protocol when you spot a fellow queer in the wild? Do I salute? Peace sign? A flirty wink? (I need to practice winking cutesily)

Ok so I figured out that Lexapro was missing from my latest PillPack so I haven’t been taking it for a week. 🫠
Anyone else exactly three seconds and just one more goddamn thing away from a complete mental break? 🙋🏼‍♀️

Do we have queer, chronically ill, and disabled folks (including scientists who I’m told are people too) over on Mastodon too or no?
I made a personal account on mastodon and so far it’s all scientists and mathematicians posting about coffee and science (which is great) but I’m not sure if that’s all I’m seeing because I used my real name and some IRL contacts and the algorithm is algorithming.

Do I need to be on Mastodon? Are we using BluSky and Mastodon for different things? Is Threads a real thing that we’re doing?

Heard something amusing today that reminded me of an old friend. For just a fraction of a second I thought “I should message them and see how they are,” before remembering that I can’t. It’s been just over three years now. #grief

Anybody know a librarian who focuses on youth literacy, comics, graphic novels, etc? Or anyone who can speak to these topics? We are looking to record a patreon ep with them to answer a listener question! Will share more!

I am working on a post where I recommend books based on mood/vibes. I keep veering off into “productive procrastination” by doing things like making this sticker to add to the Queer books in the list.

Whenever I'm feeling sad, I just sing myself a little song to cheer up!

🎼 Oh, my spine is crooked, and my brain doesn't work.🎶
🎼 My joints are bogus, and everything hurts! 🎶

Yeah I need the internet to at least align on where we’re going to abandon Twitter so I can keep the number to 5 instead of 13 🤦‍♀️
the future of social media is copy/pasting the same post onto thirteen different web sites

One of these things is not like the other.

I got my equipment out for some gentle exercise, and when I came back after making breakfast there was a mysterious new addition. 😂

Happy #Dysautonomia Awareness Month!

I find myself needing to take a lot of “floor breaks.” If I’m at the office the closest I can get is putting my head on my desk or between my knees.

For most people, I don't think it is malicious or apathy, I think they just genuinely do not consider that there are people who have different accessibility needs. They just need to be taught. Even people who have other accessibility needs, overlook accessibility when it comes to the internet.
