Late autumn and, like pigeons, we cluster on the train platforms under the small areas where the overhead heat lamps shine. Heads down in our phones, we search for that elusive joyful snack.

Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

10 Nov 2025 -- Supreme Court turns down right-wing appeal to re-visit gay marriage decision Obergefell v Hodges, and potentially carve out exceptions for (mainly Christian conservative) anti-marriage officials. @rikiwilchins.bsky.social
Supreme Court won’t hear challenge to landmark gay marriage ruling
The announcement indicates there is not an appetite among the high court’s conservative majority to revisit one of the court’s most significant decisions in recent years.

One last note about Watson, Crick, and Franklin: when Watson, Crick, and Wilkins stole her photographs, FRANKLIN was a PhD with a student of her own.

Crick was a grad student. Watson was a pretty newly minted PhD (1950).

Far too many people don’t know it was DOCTOR Franklin.

Having flashbacks to a kidlitblog conference I went to in Minneapolis a couple decades ago and the rapacity of the mommy bloggers there and the faux genuine fronts. These emails remind me of that.
oooh this is the first time I've gotten one of these for a book that is not out yet! lol we haven't even done copyedits yet.

With the paper submitted today, @kbriney.bsky.social and I have been crafting scholarship together for over a decade. 💜

And I'm pretty sure we have at least another decade's worth of ideas in the pipeline.

I am supposed to go to DC on Thursday for a grant funded all day symposium on Friday.

How far in advance do you think my flight will get cancelled and will I be able to still submit for reimbursement because I paid for that flight months ago? (Bonus points what if my flight home gets cancelled)

Did you know a former White House climate advisor flipped a GOP stronghold in Virginia by running entirely on putting a stop to more AI data centers?

For @heatmap.news I profiled John McAuliff and a campaign that will be a roadmap for all future anti-AI politicians moving forward.
This Virginia Election Was a Warning for Data Centers
John McAuliff ran his campaign almost entirely on data centers — and won.
