Not an actual penguin. Native Texan, living in NE Pennsylvania. Husband, father, and believer in the Oxford comma. #MSsucks Big fan of #dallascowboys & #democracy - also former #dallasmavericks fan 😭 #LSUS MBA student
And it isn’t really a name change since it is only a temporary nickname name without congressional approval.

Well, there had to be a first time that @jvl.bsky.social was not (always) right... The level of acceptance from the Bulwark team about this massive display of weakness by Democrats has been so very disappointing.

Some of you folks, bless your hearts, are being way too lenient on Mr. Schumer. I get that some of you don't like attacking Democrats. I sympathize. I don't like doing it, either. But this is twice this year that Mr. Schumer has dropped the ball in a position of critical importance. No excuses.

One of two things is true:

1. Chuck Schumer genuinely felt this is a bad deal, so he voted against it, but he couldn't keep Senate Dems in line because he's a lackluster leader.

OR

2. Chuck Schumer orchestrated the shutdown deal w/ retiring Dems because he's a bad strategist and got rattled.

In response to this claim that the "strategy didn't work."

The people were on our side. We were building momentum to help save our democracy. We could have won - the premium increase notices were just starting.

And giving in now will embolden him. Things will likely get worse.

Shaheen: "We've heard from a number of our colleagues on the other side of the aisle that they're willing to come to the table, they're willing to work with us once the govt is open to get this done. We've heard the same thing from the White House. So now we'll see if they're really gonna work w/us"

Important to understand this. There's a reasonable chance that your Dem Senator who voted against it and is acting mad now was in on the play. It's the same reason why they scheduled the surrender for AFTER the election this week. They didn't want people pissed at Dems right before an election.
The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)

Rosen (2030)

Any Dem Senator decrying this deal - you better be making a motion to remove @schumer.senate.gov at the next available opportunity. Otherwise, it’s all just performative bullshit.

Donald Trump’s approval rating has tanked and Republican suffered heavy losses in last week’s elections. There’s never been a better time for Senate Democrats to cave on the ACA extension.

Just read these comments. The ‘lesson’ these people are teaching you is they are not part of your coalition. They are Lucy with the football… their intention is deception.

Just in case anyone was wondering, this agreement with China essentially moves us back to where we were in April, before the so called ‘liberation day’ tariffs were announced… except for the massive damage done to the US-China relationship, our farmers, and our economy.

Make sure you vote on Tuesday, ppl
Pennsylvania has an important Supreme Court race coming up on Tuesday, November 4. If you live in the Keystone State, or know someone who does, vote YES to retain three justices who will protect your fundamental rights and freedoms.

Just so everyone knows, reports from the WSJ don’t adjust tariff exclusions… but they may move markets. The Trump Admin could have assessed these tariffs on an individual basis from the start, but that takes work… that would have been hard. So they faked an equation and pulled numbers out of a hat.
BREAKING: The US is rolling back tariffs on “products that cannot be grown, mined, or naturally produced in the United States," per WSJ
