I suspect a lot of people don't get just how prevalent the attitude that "I expect conservatives to be infantile assholes, so it's ok for them to be infantile assholes, but I expect liberals to be responsible adults, so anything less than perfection is betrayal" is.

Why does everyone keep calling it “The Epstein Ballroom?” Please stop repeating “The Epstein Ballroom” because it is not called “The Epstein Ballroom!” Don’t tell the news that it’s called “The Epstein Ballroom” and please don’t repost this!!!!!

Sure, we love to mock techbros for misunderstanding dystopian stories and "creating the Torment Nexus".

But I think we're missing a key point. The dystopian story they're really after is "The Most Dangerous Game".

Can you imagine not being able to function while high? Work would suck so bad.

Especially my job. The other guy is such a whiner, though. But I just tell him, "Quit complaining, and just be happy you even have a job. Why do you think they have copilots on airliners anyway?"

There's no such thing as expressing bigotry in a civil way, bc bigotry is the antithesis of civility.

Arguing otherwise is nothing more than thinly-veiled bigotry, at best.

While "violence breeds violence" is technically true, it's also misleading. The primary driver of violence is the fact that violence is fun for the people who engage in it. Nonviolence will not stop those people.

White on white crime is a tragic epidemic sweeping the country.

How many more will we lose to white gang violence and rightwing turf wars?

It’s the culture, you know. These white celebrities glamorize a criminal lifestyle & young inner-suburb kids get trapped in the school-to-influencer pipeline.

I'm not suggesting that anyone should not condemn the shooting of Charlie Kirk.

But he was an advocate for killing people he didn't like, and pretending that he wasn't is disingenuous.

I remember what Charlie Kirk said when one of his fans murdered Melissa Hortman.

The current administration attempting diplomacy is like someone signing up for the World Series of Poker after their only exposure is reading a summary of the movie "Rounders" and thinking "I can't believe they took the game from that movie and turned it into a real thing!".

Hot takes:
1) Racism, sexism, and similar forms of bigotry are not opinions, they are credible threats of violence.

2) Animosity towards bigots is not bigotry. Bigotry is an action, and it's totally good and right to judge people based on their actions. Really, it's a moral failing not to.

I have a question for everyone, and I'd love as many answers on this as possible (so share if you're inclined).

Would you rather have anxiety about a real problem in your life, or anxiety with no discernible cause?

Hey, whatever happened to those nuclear sub that Trump was deploying to keep Russia in check? You know, the ones that Putin uncharacteristically never said a damn thing about?

It's almost like it was intended solely as a distraction, and Putin was in on it.

Never confuse ignorance with stupidity. Ignorance isn't a bad thing, in general. It's the default state of affairs for every single person who has or will ever live, without exception.

OTOH, stupidity is a terrible, destructive thing. It's the combination of ignorance with confidence.
