Work of nice ladies
Actually a whole lot of stuff going back to the environmental justice movements and back further to the abolitionists is nice ladies. It's kind of nice ladies all the way down. (Not all ladies are nice, not all nice people are ladies; insert 4000-word qualifier here.)

Other countries have safety nets. The US has women.

Their labor creates the illusion of a DIY society, making it seem like we don't need a net.

Writing HOLDING IT TOGETHER was a labor of love and fury and I'm so grateful to share it with you all #PubDay

The United States has officially withdrawn from the World Health Organization.

This is a shameful move that puts both Americans and people all over the world at greater risk from disease outbreaks, which require international collaboration to contain.

One thing to note in this obit is how *ice-cold* - and I say that with admiration - the civil rights movement was in deciding to push her aside in favor of Rosa Parks.
You can hate it, but it was a hard-assed strategic decision that put winning over feelings.
