In 2016, I was invited to have a conversation with
Gerry Kelly on LMFM Radio about my book 'Gullible Travels'. Nigel & Cormac Talbot, the brothers who raped me during my child & teenage years, complained. Gerry Kelly read a scurrilous apology for broadcasting the truth. I took legal action.
2/2 when I went in & apologised for not speaking the local language. He asked my girl where she was from, then told her she didn't "look Irish". Being an #IrishMammy, I had to have a word. I'm just back from the shop. I outlined the issue. He asked me what I wanted "Less #racism, please," I said.

My daughter & I are not in Ireland at the moment. On Friday, she went to the pharmacy near us to have a Rx filled. Today, she told me the pharmacist had humiliated her for not speaking the local language (she tried!) & laughed at her attempts. The same pharmacist had no issue with me last year 1/2

"Electricity demand from data centres has grown from 5% of national electricity demand in 2015 to 22% in 2024.

According to Eirgrid, by 2034, it is expected that this, along with any other new technology-related energy drains, will rise to 34% of electricity demand." Source: @thejournal.ie
So, we can completely miss our climate targets but continue to build these energy sucking monstrosities. This needs to be stopped. Little to no employment, massive quantities of land and ridiculous damage to our air, water and habitats. #SpeirGorm
Minister for Enterprise Peter Burke will this morning bring a major plan to build more data centres across the country to Cabinet for sign off.

This bodes well for our ageing/disabled population. Apparently it's a "Top heavy" industry. Every time I'm in our local hospital, I'm always struck by the level of non medical staff in the place. Of course we need them there but its' the ratio of them to medical staff that floors me. #SpeirGorm
More than two-thirds of health workers are "actively" considering leaving their role, according to new research. The survey of 3,775 Fórsa members across the HSE, Tusla, Section 38 and voluntary organisations, found low morale among workers across Ireland's health and social care services

Bastards. I’m so tired of this stuff. Get a life, you parasites.
Heads up for the #SciArt community. Yet ANOTHER parasitic Facebook account, with 125k followers, is stealing the work of real artists, myself included, feeding it into AI and posting without credit. Feel free to use this information in any way you choose.

‘A recent Daily Mail article discusses widespread reports of people “getting sicker more often,” with doctors noting struggling immune defences against routine bugs. The piece quotes Danny Altmann again, this time describing the hypothesis of lasting immune harm from mild COVID as “reasonable.”’
Thank you @fitterhappieraj.bsky.social for warning the few who listened that even mild COVID infections can cause immune system damage. It’s shameful you had to endure insults & censorship simply for telling the truth & trying to help people.

you know what it is though, I think a lot of them don't understand because they have been given the gift of never having to. They are coming at it from their perspective and just don't ever have to think from the perspective of anyone else. It never crosses their mind. Society has given them that.
