Yesterday, Labour asked the Conservatives on West Sussex County Council whether they want another (sixth) year in charge.

Today, the Conservatives said yes.

Elections shouldn't be cancelled at the whim of the people up for re-election.

Watch @EdDavey.LibDems.org.uk's First PMQ vs Last PMQ of 2025.

Sadly, social care still remains an afterthought for this government, in 2026 this must change to fix our NHS.

There is a crisis facing our NHS. For far too many people, there is a real danger that an ambulance won’t come on time, or that they may spend hours waiting in A&E because our NHS has been pushed to breaking point.

Only an emergency package of support can shore up our NHS through the months ahead

Once celebrated by all, it marks the shortest day in our country and the longest night.

Warm greetings to all those who mark Bodhi Day, which commemorates the enlightenment of Lord Buddha beneath the sacred Bodhi Tree.

The true cost of Brexit revealed. 🚨

They promised £350m a week. Instead we’re paying the price daily.

We must fix our relationship with Europe to fix Britain.

Instead of fixing the £90bn Brexit black hole - the government is hitting you with record high stealth taxes.

Ed said it best: We want to grow the economy, not tax the economy.

This is botched Budget, from a government that is hiking taxes on ordinary families instead of going for growth by fixing our trade with Europe.

Another Budget.
More stealth taxes.
Still no plan for growth.

Local families, businesses and farmers across Ely and East Cambs deserved better. I’ll keep fighting for fairer funding for our services and real investment in our local economy.

I welcome the news that the Chancellor is finally going to scrap the Tories cruel two-child benefit cap. I have been campaigning on this for a long time, and it will have a huge and positive impact on struggling families in Eastleigh and across Hampshire.

Violence against women and girls is an epidemic we must all work together to end.
This year’s White Ribbon Day campaign is asking men to do their part by standing up, holding themselves accountable and speaking out against violence.
Together, we can bring positive change. It Starts With Men.
