Undoubtedly, but the only way to stop such typical capitalist perversion of our pseudo-democracies is to ban & punish any funding beyond some standardized, taxpayer-funded support for those seeking public office of any sort.
ANYONE in Congress, from either party, receiving ANY funding from AIPAC, the Heritage Foundation or any of the oligarchs, should be tossed at the first opportunity.

Maybe if enough such revelations are published/posted, a few more folks would begin to realize just how endless they are, spewed from the sick mouth from a sick mind.

"Thoughts?" Fuck cars, whether driven by humans or machines! They, their roads, urban sprawl & commutes were imposed on us by capitalist industry profiting from building 'em & fueling 'em, while condemning us to suffering the resulting endless annoyances & dangers they inflict.
Interesting data (from Waymo) showing that robotaxis are significantly safer than the average human driver. This is likely because they respect traffic rules. An NYT op-ed by a neurosurgeon calls for a broader adoption as a public health measure. Thoughts? www.nytimes.com/2025/12/02/o...

Yep! One of the things that struck me most forcefully upon my first visit to Europe (to France) was not only how old things were, but how so many were built of stone in so many different ways, from Roman aqueducts & roads to city buildings and most peasant homes, with walls thick as adobe in Mexico.

Good idea! Also worth supporting: xerces.org If we don't stop capitalists from poisoning them & destroying their habitat, we'll soon join them in extinction. 😡

"laughable"? How about "vicious", "typical", "hypocritical"? The "pro-life" movement has NEVER been about preserving any life other than the patriarchal rights of men. It has always been about returning women to broodmare & handmaiden status via depriving them of rights they have won thru struggle.
Cross: And I just find it laughable that the party of the self-proclaimed pro-life people are celebrating cutting off funding to children…

In a better, post-capitalist world without money, where other values mattered, musicians would be supported comfortably but not turned into replacements (along with film stars) for worshiped royalty abandoned when the US was created.
The year’s top artists—including Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny and The Weeknd—drummed up a collective $1.9 billion in the past 12 months. And one of them became a billionaire. www.forbes.com/sites/martin... (Illustration: KLAWE RZECZY for Forbes, Photos: Getty Images)

Not "too dumb to notice" but too ill-informed by so much of capitalist media as to be unaware of what the bastards are doing & how they do it! Few sub or read Forbes & similar sources. Sadly, not new with Trump but as old as capitalism.
They really cut $1 Trillion from Medicaid then put $50 billion back and think we’re all too dumb to notice
December 31, 2025 at 10:31 AM
To READERS everywhere: fight like hell to protect valid sources from liars & rigged AI, owned & directed by scumbag capitalists and their bought-off politicos & shills.

Ya know, this defames shit, which happens to be quite useful in many places as "night soil" fertilizing crops, or "Dillo Dirt" in Austin, Texas, where you can buy it by the bagful for your yard and garden. Trump on the other hand is not only useless but an obstacle to everything that is.

"weirdo"? Perhaps, but certainly a rabid Christian Nationalist wanting to impose his or her version of religion on everyone else. You'd have thought that went out with the Great Schism & the Reformation, but, sadly, fanatics are still plaguing us - & currently allied with fascists!
This is profoundly un-American.

No—that's not right.

It's *anti*-American.

It's hatred of the United States and its founding documents and all its people and all its traditions.

The person who wrote and approved this is a weirdo who detests everything that America stands for.

Such crap! Every new, ginned up capitalist gadget is hyped by those who want you to spend money, make more profits for them, while forgetting how the system screws you, e.g., by subordinating life to work & the need to prepare for it, "commute" to it, & recuperate from it.

Well, Susan, I don't know about "obedience to God", but resistance to tyranny is certainly mandated by any moral or ethical concern with the well-being of humans, other animals & the planet. "The System", by the way, is capitalism & tyranny is built in, with or without a dictator.
“I shall earnestly and persistently continue to urge all women to the practical recognition of the old Revolutionary maxim. ‘Resistance to tyranny is obedience to God.’”

"This" Christmas? It's true EVERY Christmas, that was the point of Dickens's story. Scrooge may have only been a small-time owner, with few employees, but his exploitation of them & unconcern with their well-being has carried over into EVERY modern form of capitalism - & no ghosts will change 'em!
This Christmas the real Scrooges are corporations that raked in record profits this year and paid their CEOs millions of dollars but still deny workers a living wage and benefits.

Imprisoning, torturing, slaughtering animals and then selling their flesh serves two purposes: 1) profit for the capitalists responsible for most of it, & 2) by isolating the animals, most people never meet one, discover its sentience and sapience, & think of them only as food.
So grateful this post reached over 900K people on Threads! 🙏

There is absolutely NO excuse for animal exploitation.

More and more people DO care.

And this WILL end. Join the movement today!

Be annoyed! Odds have it the glitches are built in - to encourage you to buy a new version - which will also be built with some fault, necessitating it near-term replacement. It's called "planned obsolescence" and capitalists use it to increase sales & profit while fucking over consumers.
At risk of sounding like an old cranky person, I am annoyed at how many things that used to work don't work now. The Prime Videos app on Windows has random digital hitches. My wireless controller now cuts out at random intervals for 20-30 seconds. Things that used to just work, now suddenly clunky.

THEY don't just want a national abortion ban, they want a return to unbridled patriarchy with women reduced to broodmares & handmaidens - and, if & when needed in waged jobs, like farm labor, at the lowest level of pay, i.e., a return to 19th Century conditions for women.
They want a national abortion ban. It’s why they went after Roe.

Banning it for veterans is just another step in removing our autonomy and controlling our bodies.

Reproductive freedoms are worth fighting for and veterans deserve better.

Department of Veterans Affairs quietly implements abortion ban
A VA spokesperson confirmed to MS NOW that the ban was in place following a Department of Justice memo issued last week.

Once again, Apple will demonstrate that there IS a sucker born every minute! - whether P. T. Barnum actually said that or not. 😊 The computer industry has carried "planned obsolescence" to a new level of absurdity & has the political power to prevent any regulation to stop it.

Ya gotta assume that by "created", the author means the actual implementation of neoliberal policies. Neoliberalism = a set of market-worshipping theories + derivative policies + their implementation in the world + the obfuscating ideology that makes them all out to be in everyone's interest.
This is the Jacobin out of office message

Unfortunately, most voters ARE "educated", but the problem is that the content of their "education" prepared them to be easily manipulated. Schools are edu-factories turning out workers who will accept being exploited, NOT prepared for critical participation in civic life. Result? Look around...

Take it as emblematic, prototypical, shades-of-things-to-come. Fascists "mute" all voices that differ from their own. Read up: Tim Mason, Social Policy in the Third Reich (1993), D. Peukert, Inside Nazis Germany: Conformity, Opposition, and Racism in Everyday Life, 1982.
The White House claims the vote to rename the Kennedy Center was “unanimous.” That is false. I was muted on the call and denied the opportunity to speak or register my opposition. That is not consensus. That is censorship.

As they say, "Better late, than never!" Despite Simon de Beauvoir & others, French women were late in getting real legal rights, including contraception & abortion. Now, they're gonna have to defend 'em against French fascists, a la Trumpists.
Today, French lawmakers unanimously approved a bill exonerating women punished for abortion before it was legalized in 1975.
This "is an act of justice toward those thousands of lives shattered by unjust laws," said Aurore Bergé, minister-delegate for gender equality.
France exonerates women convicted over abortions before legalisation
Between 1870 and 1975, more than 11,660 people were convicted for performing or seeking an abortion, according to official estimates.

It took years of militant pressure for union managers to recognize & support immigrant rights. Good to see some are standing up to the current repression of immigrant workers. They better, because they're next, alongside Trump's political enemies! Tim Mason, Social Policy in the Third Reich (1993)
IUPAT President @jimmy-iupat.bsky.social is right:

Temporary Protected Status recipients are rigorously vetted, pay taxes, and do work in critical industries. They are part of our communities and our unions—they deserve respect and protection.

America’s unions will keep fighting for them.
December 19, 2025 at 2:10 AM
Sure you could! You think Dickens's audience was any different? Britain was as full of Mammon-loving faux Christians as the USA is today. They just stopped reading when things turned against Scrooge, as they do today when the news undercuts Trump.
You couldn't write A Christmas Carol today because half of people would root for Scrooge.
