Ex-X. Now using a new name and (sorry!) naked Fella, since work is afraid of TCF and now keeps an eye on our socials. Same grumpy GenX curmudgeon.
Ours certainly can't. And we're also a net exporter. Our overseas customers are patient and loyal, but they are deferring purchases. Causing exports to fall won't help those trade deficits TCF is all hot about.
I don't see how any business could make any plans for investment or capital expenditure in the next 90 days

I'm just imagining the dealers dutifully (pun intended) smuggling it into Canada so they can bring it back and pay their tariffs so they don't get in trouble.
I'm sorry but the phrase "fentanyl tarriff" is very funny

I don't know how to say this nicely, but... if we (GenX/boomers+) keep this up, the young voters aren't going to use mean posts. As Nick Hanauer says, it'll be pitchforks. Real ones. And we'll deserve it.

I don't look forward to it, but I totally understand it.
Young voters have historically trusted Democrats to work against outdated policies and toward systemic change. But the shift in party dynamics has left many young voters increasingly disaffected by politics and disconnected from a party that once felt aligned with our values.
I Used to Work for Chuck Schumer. He's Pushing Young People Away From the Democratic Party.
I blame my former boss for the party's failures.

There's a lot of ink spilled on how Democrats should win back low-info voters (particularly young men) with rightward shifts when "stop being weak and pathetic" is the better tack. The reason AOC gets respect from low-info voters is that she doesn't let people walk all over her the way Schumer does.

The good news for Republicans is that young Americans' experiences were that they were better for the economy than Democrats, something that hadn't been the case in 40 years. All they had to do was, well, not this.

The young guys who want to work and are worried about their current economic situation support Democrats. Young guys who believe women are their adversaries drifted to the Republicans.

This past week, the Chinese learned

1) exactly where Trump's pain points are;

2) how much to squeeze them before he flinches;

and

3) how little America's partners and allies want to help this president.

Highly useful information.
