Look who came up the driveway this afternoon!!!! You've never seen me grab my camera so fast. Unfortunately, I had to shoot through a dirty window in low light, so it's a bit fuzzy. Still! Lynx!! In my yard!!! Look at those big fluffy paws! 🦊🌿

Post-infectious GN that didn't read the textbook. Young adult with nephritic syndrome + recent step throat. +ASO. Low C3/C4. UA with 2+ blood and 1+ protein. DPGN with full house staining and massive subendo deposits. Serologic w/u (-). Resolved with supportive care. #nephsky #pathsky #renapath

I suspect that many examples of data-dredging rather than being unplanned, are planned - along the lines of "there must be something of interest in this data, let's find it."

Always looking for that 2nd diagnosis in kidney bx's. Biopsy with LN V+IV (C) with heavy proteinuria. Also some prominent nodular medial hyalinosis in arterioles + JGA hyperplasia raises the possibility of chronic voclosporin effect. But neither is a specific finding. #renalpath #pathsky #nephsky

The popularization of science is an extremely hard task. Popularized science should be as simple as possible but not too simple. Not only it has to be informative but should also be, at least to some extent, cognitively demanding.
