I only joined a few days ago, so here is a warning for any spiders, invertebrates or reptiles that I may post.

I am studying zoology and entomology and I own a handful of exotic animals, so I would not interact with me if any scare you.

Be kind or be blocked.

Now that it's getting colder, you're going to see an influx of spiders in your home and a lot of them are generally harmless Wolf Spiders.
.
Before mindlessly killing them, please consider letting them be or at the very least, capturing and releasing them elsewhere.

Wasp stings are so unpleasant that many insects mimic them in hopes that predators leave them alone. Here are some great imitators!

Seed heads: beautiful & fantastic for garden wildlife.
This is why we don't cut all our plants down in November. We'll leave as much as possible standing until February.. We love it and it's much better for wildlife too.

They're overcrowded too but cars change a LOT
Cities aren’t crowded. They’re just full of cars.

Day 21 of posting cool mushrooms every day:

The Bleeding Tooth fungus (Hydnellum peckii) has both teeth on its underside and "blood" on its top!

The "blood" is extracellular fluid, which is squeezed out when the fungus absorbs water, increasing pressure until the red fluid is squeezed out!

This is Otis. He just had his very first vet appointment. Even got to take a picture like it was his first day of school. 12/10 we're proud of you, Otis

There are just over 30 of these left in the wild and most people will never know that they ever existed if they die out :((

The Gobi bear, currently the rarest bear in the world.

A few of the molted head caps from my pet jumping spiders. I’d like to think fairies use these as helmets in the wild. 🧚🏻

Who says November is dull? These autumn moths have such delicate patterning: Black-spotted Chestnut, a relative newcomer from the Continent, with black stigmata (markings on forewings), Juniper Carpet & Red-green Carpet (what a pair!) & Scarce Umber ♂️ (♀️ is almost wingless). #MothsMatter

I don't care if ya think the dog, cat, tarantula, pirrahna or what ever outlandish thing someone has you don't ever say that to someone

Thatvis someone's pride and joy ffs
