Because a lot of them in higher positions (mostly all men) profited off it one way or another? Just a stab in the dark.
I don't think legacy media is reading the room correctly on the Epstein Files. Many of us are asking why they have ignored this story for the last decade? Why did they dismiss all of us who were concerned that Trump might be compromised? And where is their fucking contrition and apology now?

Instead of beating allegations and implications contained in the Epstein files, the right wing will start pushing the narrative that consent is a myth and that once a girl is able to pop out babies, she's fair game. It's probably already started in some ultra right christian fringes.
