I love movies (I'm no cinephile but I like films!), needle felting, photography, Disneyland, video games, and tea. I try to be funny and kind (or at the very least punch up).

High school had us reading the SADDEST books: Lord of the Flies, Wuthering Heights, Cuckoos Nest, Scarlet Letter, Hiroshima (important but it was read in Lit class, NOT History)
We hated it. Teachers were pissed because they thought us not enjoying the assigned reading = hate all reading.

We all have teachers who give us a book that we love for life and can trace our love of reading to them, but does anyone else have that teacher who was SO VIOLENTLY IN LOVE WITH A BOOK and who taught it so intensely that it turned you off that book and that author for years?

The new Disneyland Handcrafted documentary might be my favorite thing that Disney (or any other big studio) has done with their archival material. Leslie Iwerks used a ton of restraint and the film is really well constructed. I hope they release it on physical media.

Hytale is certainly inspired by Minecraft, but is still unique has quality-of-life functions that Minecraft lacks & is extremely pretty.
Really enjoying it so far. Haven't done more than gather materials because all games with a gathering component compresses my ADHD to only focus on that.

what really bugs me about the "trans people got ahead of public opinion" line is that it ignores *why* public opinion changed. it didn't just come out of nowhere, there was a deliberate push to make trans rights a wedge issue.
Just started doing new data analysis and I know I keep saying this, but: I really, really don't think people appreciate how much this moral panic was a deliberate and extremely expensive invention.

AltNPS posted about Alex Pretti's murder 25 times since this morning. During that time, they spread misinformation about the shooting, lied about knowing the shooter's name, and generally flooded the zone with shit.
