Today I celebrate the one-year anniversary of the birth of Glass Stories from the grizzled womb of @grimscribepress.bsky.social.

To mark the occasion, I will give my own personal rating of each story in the collection (out of 5 stars).

This will be my longest thread ever.

New essay! In which Ben Lockwood (@benlockwood.bsky.social) made me stop and consider how place & space can work in short stories, in ways I previously hadn't appreciated (thru Ive Grimes' collection).

I heard recently that a popular horror podcast was slagging off Ligotti’s short story, “The Red Tower.” My response: uploading a reading of it to YouTube. “Purple prosed” nonsense or singular masterpiece or something else entirely? You decide.

Another very good book I finished back in January: Glass Stories by @ivygrimes.bsky.social . Themed single author collection, really cool idea, executed beautifully. Satisfying, varied range of strange, symbolic fantasies of dread, love and horror of the body, the domus, immanence and transformation

Finished a breathtaking short story collection Santa brought me. Mindf* collection, composed of interconnected stories, reading more like a composite novel. Origami Dreams and both stories with Ventriloquism in their titles my favorites. Strongly recommended! 5/5
