The wellness industry discovered they can charge more if they add mystical explanations to things that already work
meditation: free, works, 2500 years of evidence
meditation + "quantum energy fields": $200, works the same, sounds fancier

Almost every response I get these days on Upwork is tellingly written with AI - it's kind of annoying—overly wordy dribble.

Funny how American cars go hard with names like Cougar, Wrangler, Nova—all muscle and menace—while Chinese EVs roll out with Dolphin, Sea Lion, Good Cat. One market sells power. The other sells charm. Says a lot.

I’m about to board my flight to El Salvador, where I hope to meet with senior government officials to discuss the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

I also hope to see Kilmar and check on his condition — and remind him that we won’t stop fighting until he’s home.

Echoes in a Well

A man stood at the edge of a well, listening.
Voices rose from below — urgent, endless, certain.
They spoke of justice, reform, catastrophe.
He listened every day.

One morning, he shouted back:
“Why do you keep talking?”

Question: How does the SCOTUS decision to make a president essentially unliable for anything impact impeachment?
April 15, 2025 at 2:38 AM
Honestly, at this point, there is only one word. IMPEACH

I like how the comic was like he was “self-aware” and nice to him and willing to “accept me as a possible friend” and seemed to not realize trump does that with everyone; it amazes me Bill Maher saw that as a positive as opposed to evidence of incredible insecurity and cowardice from Trump

Not a single word to help the 33m small businesses in this country. Not from anyone in the administration.

So many buy from China, and don't have alternatives.

So many didn't have the cash to front run the tariffs and buy inventory

My small furniture co, which used to ship to the US, will no longer do so. I understand that millions of other small businesses share my predicament. I have access to other markets and will manage without the US. However, this isn't a matter of trade policy; it's a stunning display of incompetence.

We all know how this is likely to play out: He’ll let up for a bit and then impose crazy sky-high tariffs again.

104% tariffs on China, 46% on Vietnam, markets in freefall, and all based on a formula so absurdly simplistic it could fit on a cocktail napkin.
Trade Deficit ÷ Imports ÷ 2 = Economic Chaos

A lot of very frustrating American political behavior is explained by reasoning something like this: A pathologically mentally unbalanced moron surely could not receive a major party presidential nomination, let alone win, twice. Therefore if he seems like one, it must all be a clever act.
FUNDSTRAT tonight:

“.. in the last few days, we have had many conversations with macro fund managers. .. A few have quietly wondered if the President might be insane.”
April 9, 2025 at 3:29 AM
Even if you could establish a presence somewhere to evade these outrageous tariffs, you likely wouldn't, as they might all change next week. No one can operate in such chaos.

WTF: “Trump’s treasury secretary Bessent seeks ‘meaningful negotiations’ with more than 50 countries”. BUT why didn’t they negotiate BEFORE imposing massive tariffs that caused market to crash, wiped out nest eggs and are ushering in a recession?! This is beyond incompetence. It’s criminal!

Now would be a good time for three republicans in the house and 20 in the senate to get on board with impeaching and removing the president who’s not constitutionally qualified to hold the office anyway.

Just a legal historian here reminding everyone that “high crimes and misdemeanors” do not need to be felonies.

They can include political abuses and stupidity, like, hypothetically, destroying the economy and wiping out people’s savings in 3 days.
