In some states, the right of a woman to determine what happens when she becomes pregnant now extends to what happens if she dies while pregnant. Any previous medical or end-of-life directives are mooted by her pregancy.
No one experiencing the tragedy of a miscarriage should be arrested, much less abandoned in jail for 5 months with a $100k bond. But that’s exactly what happened to Mallori Patrice Strait in Texas. Women, particularly women of color, in this country are no longer allowed dignity even in extreme loss

It is crucial that the separation of church and state be preserved if only because a) churches don't agree on what they consider sinful so everything will be 'cause they won't offend each other, & b) whatever it is, it is very likely part of your, or someone you love's daily routine.

This is hugely disturbing. As we become more comfortable using AI - damn, I use it to create music - the idea that pre-conditions can be written into it is chilling. Read an originating article on the grok white genocide issue and ask, "If it hadn't been so obvious, would I have even noticed?"
I talked to the AP about grok's "white genocide" meltdown. A few hours after publication, xAI admitted to hard coding it. This is important accountability journalism because people use AI as an arbiter of truth & here we see AI owners making the tools match their politics
