The pundit and political class tended to downplay the Epstein Files because they believed it too salacious and not serious enough to drive government policy and decision-making. Except, they are doing just that. Dismissing the importance of the Files ignores who Trump is and who he has always been.

Amid everything else I had almost forgotten that even without a pardon, Trump has offered Ghislaine Maxwell amenities unexplainable by anything but some sort of quid pro quo.
Raskin on Ghislaine Maxwell: "The fact she was able to be transferred to a prison camp where no sex offenders had ever been allowed to enter before, much less live there, is an indication they've got some kind of meeting of the minds about what Trump can provide to her & what she can provide to him"

Weird how people who kept Epstein's activities in Florida from being prosecuted keep getting cabinet-level appointments from Trump. Someone should ask Pam Bondi about this puzzling phenomenon.

Just blatant corruption. They know these numbers are putrid and are making every excuse to cover them up just like they are doing with Epstein. bsky.app/profile/atru...

PANIC SETS IN

Pam Bondi, Kash Patel, Todd Blanche, and others, plan on holding an EMERGENCY MEETING today on the Epstein Files as the discharge vote nears.

Rep. Boebert will reportedly be there.

It appears there is an all hands on deck effort to try to prevent a vote on the Epstein Files. (CNN)

🚨BREAKING: Oversight Dems have received new emails from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate that raise serious questions about Donald Trump and his knowledge of Epstein’s horrific crimes.

Read them for yourself. It’s time to end this cover-up and RELEASE THE FILES.

I’d started to wonder whether the Epstein files were a bit of a macguffin, but no no they implicate the President of the United States in a pedophilia ring—and show the entire Republican Party as well as much of the federal government has been baldly covering it up. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

i mean c’mon. the president’s best friend was the most notorious pedo in the country’s history who ran a massive child trafficking ring. every bit of circumstantial evidence we have says that trump was a participant. if this were a criminal trial we’d have enough evidence to compel a plea deal.

A THREAD.
1. From the Associated Press: “On Sunday, a group of moderate Democrats agreed to proceed without a guaranteed extension of health care subsidies, angering many in their caucus who say Americans want them to continue the fight.”

They voted out the bill last night.
