Dinner Friday night at Next, Grant Achatz' other restaurant. They completely switched their theme every three to four times a year and they have been going for over a decade now. This menu was Space. It was very well put together and equal parts silly and earnest.

Big day Tuesday in Chicago fine dining: will Oriole or Ever get a third Michelin star to make up for Alinea losing its 3rd?
We dined at Ever last night and they could be good enough. It was a lot better than when we last went ~4 years ago. We ended up super stuffed of course. Drink pairings were 👍

So EternalEnvy lived up to his nickname today and posted that he is up $85m in October. Not bad for a small-cap day-trading short seller when I thought the total profits in that niche were around $200m per year. There has certainly been lots of volume and action this year, more like COVID than 2022

#$COST now appears to be charging spot + 4% for 1 oz gold bars versus the spot plus 2% they used to charge just weeks ago. The gold is selling out just as fast as before. Add that to your gold bubble model.

Another day, another China dump, this time of #$DLXY Delixy Holdings Limited. It dropped from $6.70 to $1.00 in just a few minutes of trading. Note the 560k volume bar at 10:03am: this was when insiders dumped their shares.

One problem with vibe coding is you don't know what you don't know. I cut my Azure costs by 2/3 this month just by reducing the verbosity of my logging and it looks like I can easily cut it another 2/3. Still, even at $30/month this was a minimal cost for programs that make me thousands a month.

Another China pump dumped today on the Nasdaq: #$CURX IPO'd on 8/25/2025: 3.75m shares at $4.00, slowly went up to $8.80 on likely wash trading and dumped right after suckers were sold into at ~11:10am (in 11 minutes more than the public float traded hands). The stock then dropped to under $2.00

This is a rare bad take from Quantian: Of course the one big successful terrorist attack would skew the data. The author did include 9/11 in a different chart. Best would be to look at number of terror attacks with at least one death but the author doesn't provide # of attacks only total dead. 1/2
