It’s quaint, I know, but the President of the United States calling for the hanging of Democratic service members for saying that no one should follow an illegal order should inspire a conversation about the 25th Amendment.

It's not based on instincts, but facts, analysis, theory, and modelling. They don't want to hire 3,000 economists, and 3,000 economists don't report to the Fed Chair.
Trump on the Fed Chair job: "It's all based on instincts. I see they wanna hire 3,000 economists. 3,000! To report to the Fed Chairman. What are they gonna do?"

Massie: “[Speaker Johnson is] trying to say the rich, powerful men who flew to Epstein Island are the victims now. The only way a ‘Christian man’ can stand up there and sell a lie like that is if he’s already decided in his head that protecting them is somehow okay.”

Yikes. That stings.
Seriously, it must be nice to have someone you care for stick up for you when you stand up to Trump

Understand where the speaker is coming from: If Republican politicians redistrict to protect their deeply unpopular leader, it's a very good thing. But if voters statewide approve redistricting 2-to-1, it's immoral.
Mike Johnson: “I'll make a comment about the tragedy in California last night…It's just a blatant example of Gavin Newsom's immoral leadership and the fact that they will do anything to try to rig the system to win.”

Excuse me? So the company the President currently owns is teaming up with a cryptocurrency company to create a prediction market, which will take bets... on things the President himself has quite a lot of control over?

Gosh, I'm sure nothing bad will happen.

U.S. District Judge Billy Roy Wilson, a legend in Arkansas jurisprudence, died Monday evening at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He was 85. His wife, Cathi Compton, told me he had been acutely ill for nine weeks.

I don’t really think the framers intended for a president to have the power to slap a tariff on products from a particular country because he didn’t like a TV commercial they ran about him, but I suppose it is presently up to the Supreme Ct to decide how far the Mad King can go.

I used to think it was a over-the-top for @emptywheel.bsky.social to call Miller "Discount Goebbels," but it turns out to be on-the-nose. Read up on "degenerate art" and what the original Goebbels said about it.
Stephen Miller: "The scandal is how Democrats & the left scarred the landscape of our country w/grotesque so-called modern art that celebrates ugliness ... very importantly, President Trump is making sure it's in the neo-classical design around which our nation's architecture has long been directed"

Good thing the East Wing didn't contain a statue of a white supremacist traitor who made war on the US in order to preserve slavery. Removing one of those would really upset Republicans.

Is there a limit to how much of the White House the president can tear down and replace with structures paid for with donations from his rich friends? Can he then transfer ownership to his "foundation" for his personal use forever, just like with the flying palace donated by Qatar?

Per these clips from Aaron today, seems MAGA-GOP is feeling extra super defensive about the #EpsteinFiles.

Release them. Then you won't need to ask for Dems "help"
Comer: "The evidence we've gathered does not implicate President Trump in any way. Public reporting, survivor testimony, and official documents show that Bill Clinton had far closer ties to Epstein. We're working to bring former President Clinton in for a deposition, but Democrats aren't helping"

DC: "several hundred"
Boston: 500
Austin: 1,000
Houston: 2,000
