When I do my genre analysis on fantasy bestsellers using BISAC codes from publishers, it seems that Fantasy with Military and Epic are the genres making the best of lists vs the sales trends of Fantasy without Military topping what people but most. #SFF #Fantasy #Romantasy

To add to this, many male reviewers in SFF are using the rise of romantasy whether consciously or subconsciously as an excuse to hardly ever review SFF women

The trend of men reviewing men has got worse in last 2 years in SFF not better IMO & I’m not sure the reviewers themselves realise it

I am extremely annoyed by The Guardian claiming 'Romantasy has reclaimed the geeky fantasy dominion for women, celebrating female friendship, agency and sexuality'.
This skewed view stems from the ongoing erasure of women writers in SF&F through fewer reviews, omission from 'Best of' lists etc etc
