A lot of people listen to the centrist strategists and “analysts” who wrongly argued Democrats shouldn’t talk about immigration because it would help Trump or some shit. You do have to wonder how that shaped Dem behavior in Congress, & how things could’ve been different w/ different info streams
The Democratic commentators, "strategists," and data bros who've been counseling appeasement of Trump's fascism need to take responsibility for how unbelievably fucking wrong they were.

For history tells us that appeasement signals weakness, encourages escalation, and accelerates freedom's end.

Not only did I understand this one, but it's one my favorite things I saw last year
Fictionalized: a dying writer (John Gielgud) populates his final story with characters based on his own family in the dark but playfully surreal PROVIDENCE (1977, D. Alain Resnais). We discuss.

Congress is not powerless. Democrats must unify around an actual agenda.

1. Vote no on DHS funding bill.

2. Repeal the multi-year $75 billion funding for ICE.

3. End qualified immunity for ICE agents.

4. Investigate and prosecute every single ICE agent who broke the law.

Walz: "To Americans who are watching this, I've got a question for you: What side do you want to be on? The side of an all powerful federal govt that can kill, injury, menace, & kidnap its citizens off the streets? Or on the side of a nurse at the VA hospital who died bearing witness to such govt?"

Democrat politician voicing support for a #GeneralStrike , even tentatively, sounds like a breakthrough to me
Raskin: "I think the people have Minnesota have shown us with their mass demonstration and general strike the direction that we may need to go in nationally in order to send the message that American society does not accept this authoritarian derailment of the US Constitution."

Quality posts like this are why you follow MZS
Watching my beloved Godzilla vs Megalon (1973) with my beloved @mzspress.bsky.social. The score is by Riichirō Manabe—basically early fusion after a Qualude. It sounds like the kind of music that was always on the stereo at my dad's apartment right after he got divorced and bought a waterbed.
