In 2024, Bet 365's CEO got a salary - not total package, just salary - of £94.7m.

A lot of people have to lose their bets to pay that.

We should be MASSIVELY curtailing betting, not promoting it further. It's a cancer in society.
You may have missed this gem yesterday. From which we learn that:

1. Betting shops are really good for the mental health of isolated people.
2. Most drug-takers are not a problem.
3. Kids put tuppence in slot machines in the hope of getting rich.
4. Farage probably has a gambling industry donor.

Starmer would know; he's pandered to racists since becoming leader. Starmer has maintained the toxic division. He called us an 'island of strangers' & that migration has caused incalculable damage to the UK. His rhetoric echoes that of Enoch Powell, someone ostracised by the tories for being racist.

As I said yesterday, Reform UK voters are much more likely to believe in conspiracies and anti-science narratives than the voters of other parties. Here’s another example in regard to net-zero scepticism.

Even a plurality of Tory voters support net-zero. Badenoch is out of step with her own voters.
🧵/ How far does the public support net zero?

Support: 60%
Oppose: 25%

Net support by party
Green: +81
Lib Dem: +67
Lab: +64
Con: +11
Reform: -44

A news source is only trusted so long as the viewers are not seeing the truth.
When you finally see truth it casts a long shadow over historical reporting and you can't put genies back into bottles.

Part of the retro-fascist nonsense driving farage.co.uk is driven by historical false BBC reporting
Nowhere in the hysterical pile-on against the BBC in the British press has anyone mentioned that BBC News now has 77 million viewers & listeners in the US and has established itself as the second most trusted news source there.

@teamlabouruk.bsky.social Disappointed beyond belief that it's the LibDem Leader who has quite rightly condemned a foreign attack on our national broadcaster. Where is Starmer? Below the excellent article on why previous government meddling has harmed the BBC
Nearly two years ago, I wrote about the extraordinary influence of former Tory spin doctor Sir Robbie Gibb on the BBC. It's still a helpful backgrounder for what's going on now. New readers start here: www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/ideas/media/...
How the government captured the BBC
A right-wing cabal, largely unaccountable, is waging war on the principles that made our public broadcaster great. It must not succeed

On the walls of SM we've all stared at the same picture. The message, hidden beneath the paints and oils - the ultra wealthy are ruining our democracies

It's happeneing in plain sight. We all knew about Farage and Russia but we didn't believe our people could be so easily duped by nationalism.

Farage is of course a hypocritical fraud.

But the shocking failure of UK media to relentlessly point this out has allowed him to prosper.
It makes me sick, all the BS from Farage, when the muppets don't know that he "resides" in Belgium, NOT Clacton, and his kids have German passports. So much for his national "pride".......

Please look at these & ask why Farage & co haven’t been held responsible for criminals coming here. I have no problem with asylum seekers coming btw

Nigel #Farage has appeared on the BBC's Question Time program a total of 38 times as of his latest appearance. This makes him one of the most frequent guests on the show, often criticized for the number of times he appears!
