Important education message: "independent research has made clear that technology rarely boosts learning in schools—and often impairs it."

Hopefully in the near term this translates into more GOP defections from Trump on key issues. If we had an opposition party to push that, that would be great.

This is a part of the perpetual tension of free societies that we seem to have forgotten. We have to constantly mind it. We can’t get rid of this tension. This is actually what I am working on in the historical contribution of puritans to liberal societies.
Yes, regimes allowing for organized internal dissent & the peaceful movement into & out of power by different social formations are better than those that don't, in many ways. But when groups organize themselves to destroy that system of power circulation, democracy should protect itself from them.

My goal of having my very old cell phone last through the second Trump administration is in danger. Hoping it is just a cosmic glitch, but things are not looking good.

The first thing we are going to have to do with all the money we just take from these horrible people when they go to jail is make reparations payments to their victims.
ICE has been holding a disabled Black man for a year!

Rodney Taylor is a double amputee who was days away from receiving new prosthetic legs when ICE took him.

He’s been denied his prosthetics & placed in solitary.

His health is declining.

Public outrage might save his life.

After teaching this all week, I can't help but think that way too many people thinking the branches of government were "co-equal" really led to the Art I abdication of responsibility of regulating the executive & judiciary. "Co-equal" implies they can ignore each other & things will be fine.

Is the dramatic escalation of ICE activity really designed to get access to state voter rolls so Trump can "prove" that the 2020 election was "rigged"?
