📌'd post: Hiya. I am: middle-aged, queer af, & not just nonbinary but anti-binary. I am: biracial, pansexual, polyamorous, & in all other possible ways both incapable+dismissive of decision-making. I am: a singer, a poet, an advice columnist, & an art critic.

Often sad. Always rad.

I have my ways.
🧵ON PANIC:

I am afraid of falling.

I've had this fear since childhood, though I don't recall any event that may have caused or it.

It's very particular. I'm not afraid of landing. I'm not afraid of getting hurt or of pain or of damage to my body.

I'm afraid of the actual sensation of falling.

Um, HAI: My name is Genevieve, and I just marked the day of my colonoscopy on my Google calendar as, "OFF (butt stuff)"

This is a hell of a time to be watching through the 2017 S4 arc of Agents of Shield where they're trapped in a pro-Hydra digital reality & have conversations with the NPCs like, "YES, actually; Hydra ARE all Nazis."
once again: asking for a candidate without a Nazi tattoo isn’t asking for a unicorn

you sound genuinely insane when you claim that it is

OK #TransitTunes fans: Here’s a poll for y'all. I'm picking up an extra shift tomorrow, and it happens to be drummer #DaleCrover 's birthday. Dare I subject the general public to a Melvin's day? It would make ME happy, sure ... but is it the best way to keep my sweet, sweet gubmint gig? Weigh in!

I need to trick myself into starting to write poetry again. There is so much bullshit building up inside me, it's gonna get ugly if I can't contrive a release valve.

Disabled people are an oppressed and marginalized group. Ableism is a cornerstone of how capitalism functions. More people need to start acting like it.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

We all feel old from time to time ... but have you ever felt the kind of old you feel when a young adult tells you with utter confidence that the three most formative acts of the metal genre are Ozzy Osborne, Mötley Crüe, and Slipknot? 🧑🏾‍🦳🧓🏾🧟

Listened to the newest album from #AnikaNilles omw to work this morning, & suffice to say, my ears are in love! I have GOT to find a way to go to one of the Rush dates in Chicago next summer!!! #MusicSky

Sometimes, on #TransitTunes, I'll choose an artist I've just never quite grokked in hopes of discovering just what everyone else loves about them. This morning, listening to Matthew Sweet (born #OTD 1964), I was rudely reminded of how inexplicably anxious certain eras of pop music make me. But ...

Hell of a sunrise this beautiful fall morning! Happy October, BlueSky! For #TransitTunes today, we're rockin' the psychedelic sounds of Shocking Blue, the Dutch group from the 1960s/70s led by singer Mariska Veres (1947-2006), born #OTD.

Aight, fools -- I'm liveskeeting my BIRTHDAY today! I'm 48 now or, as I like to call it, 3 - 16-year-olds in a trench coat.

I've planned an action-packed day of watching my historical Five Favorite Movies. Kicked things off at 10 a.m. with Welles' 1962 Kafka adaptation, The Triàl.

Portland police are all deeply fascist, they kettle and gas protestors at a moment's notice, and even they're like "yeah dawg this is fucked up"
Essential context for what is happening in Portland and Trump's declaration of war against us. Note that it's *local law enforcement* accusing the feds of incitement.

One of the top reasons I love the work I do: driving in the pre-dawn, window down, chill tunes, sleepy but satisfied. (photo taken while parked, obvi)

Today's soundtrack: The Ventures Hbd to drummer Mel Taylor (1933-1996). #TransitTunes

Tfw you check your phone after like an hour at work & there's 23 new messages in the family group chat 😬 BUT #TurnsOut it's your adult children showing off D&D character designs bc your son just had his 3D-printed as an action figure 🥰

Look. Kids these days with their racial homogeneity, gods. I tell you whut. BACK IN MY DAY, if your friend group didn't look like a United Colors of Benetton ad, did you really even HAVE friends?
So… since we pretend like we don’t care about being the forgotten generation but really are filled with angst without it… what are our most GenX gripes?

I’m at the stage of complaining about teenagers never leaving their houses and getting into trouble like my friends and I did.

We were indoctrinated to love the US CONSTITUTION and hate NAZIS. Not like these kids today who can't appreciate the benefits of living in a representative democracy.
