IT'S FEBRUARY 2026.

THE RAIL ENABLED HYUNDAI FERRIES FOR I REX WERE MEANT TO ARRIVE BY NOW.

Instead we have no rail enabled ferries, the two we have are clunky as fuck, and there will be no replacement ferries until 2029 at the earliest.

Big clap for 👏💩👏 Jordan Williams & NZ Taxpayers Union for generating anti-Maori bigotry to kill the 3 Waters reform forbidding water privatisation for his #AtlasNetwork investors

It beggars belief that the Reserve Bank is on the verge of tightening policy again and the Government is keeping policy tight. 'We now have nearly 1 in 7 adults on a working age benefit.' Full employment? Yeah...nah.
MSD have been delaying their December benefits data release due to data processing issues but they shared headline numbers yesterday. If the data is correct, this is a huuuge increase. We now have nearly 1 in 7 adults on a working age benefit. Link in ALT. (🧵 1/n)

What is not going to happen is any goddamn accountability for the fact that this coalition deliberately tanked the economy. And I’m choosing the word deliberately specifically because they brought it policies that ARE KNOWN to tank economies. Sorry ignorance is not an excuse in 2026.

They all did well in this standup in spite of some truly inane questions from the press gallery. Loved the description of the current government's coalition agreement as "backroom deals that looked like 200 random hot-takes from your granddad's facebook page" #nzpol

Please remember also all the public servants who have lost their jobs (like me) who can't get the unemployment benefit (cos my hubby earns 'too much' as a teacher) will not bee 'seen' in this data
#nzpol New unemployment data from Stats NZ today, showing the impact of an economy that isn't working. An additional 5,000 people became unemployed during the quarter, rising to levels last seen in 2015. 164,000 people are now unemployed, up 39,000 in just 2 years. A🧵

#nzpol The Government’s policies are making it harder for working people, their whānau, and their communities to get ahead. There is no recovery in the economy unless working people are feeling it. The numbers show that right now they are not.

My wife and I were on a beach in the Wellington area and found this at a car park, in the grass.

It is approximately the size of a person's hand, made of bone, and intricately carved.

I've masked the lower half,as only the legitimate owner will be able to fully describe it.

Please share this...(1)

Perhaps Chris Bishop’s mega-ministry can join the dots so that instead of rural rate-payers subsidising the logging industry via road repairs, the industry is made to transport logs via the railways?

This may be harsh, but I reckon one of the main reason Luxon is visiting Tauranga is that he craves the worldwide acclaim given to Ardern for her handling of crises. He doesn't understand that her actions came from her genuine compassion. He has none, repeatedly showing he doesn't care. /1
