What is wrong with journalists? The language being used around the US invasion of Venezuela is reprehensible. Apparently Maduro had a 'rant' about being kidnapped. This is not a neutral term and is used to diminish and dismiss.

My problem with "but they did human rights abuses" is so do we. Every day. We're doing them right now. You can log on this website and watch near-live footage of them every single fucking day. We are one of the most abusive nations on earth. We're just rich, have all the guns, and plenty of circuses
The problem I have with the "Okay but Maduro did these human rights violations" is that Maduro remained in power under the pretext of America constantly threatening to invade. He would have been out of leadership a decade plus ago if we had normalized relations or even just stopped threatening them.
