6일 군 당국에 따르면 지난 9월 말 취임한 진영승 합참의장은 최근 합참 장군들 전부와 2년 이상 근무한 중령과 대령들을 모두 교체하라는 지시를 내린 것으로 알려졌다.
군 관계자는 "계엄 여파로 인한 인적 쇄신 차원"이라고 설명했다.
이에 합참 소속 장성들 약 40명은 국방부와 각 군에 재배치되고 외부의 장성들이 그 자리를 채울 전망이다.
