Anaïs Pitto-Barry dans « brève de science » : soigner avec précision
En octobre, tous se mobilisent contre le cancer du sein. La lutte contre les cancers repose sur la prévention et des traitements de plus en plus efficaces. Anaïs Pitto-Barry, chimiste au CNRS à l’Institut Galien Paris-Saclay (IGPS, CNRS/UPSaclay, Orsay), y participe en réalisant des recherches sur de futurs médicaments, mieux ciblés grâce à l’utilisation des nanotechnologies médicales, à l’échelle de l’infiniment petit.
L’interview en vidéo en résumé Anaïs Pitto-Barry, chimiste au CNRS à l'Institut Galien Paris-Saclay, développe de nouveaux médicaments pour le traitement de maladies graves et notamment du cancer. Elle développe des principes actifs avec comme objectif de les transporter au bon endroit dans le corps grâce à des « véhicules » à échelle nanométrique (un nanomètre équivaut à 0,000000001 mètre). Un tiers des personnes atteintes de cancers subissent des chimiothérapies qui ont des effets néfastes pour le corps entier, et pas seulement pour les cellules cancéreuses. Le travail de Anaïs Pitto-Barry consiste à emmener les principes actifs sur les cellules cancéreuses, ce qui limitera les effets secondaires. Elle a développé des principes actifs intéressants sur le plan biologique. Aujourd’hui elle cherche à conserver leur efficacité en les greffant à des « nano-véhicules ».
