May all those who observe Yom Kippur have a meaningful day/fast.

May you find your way to forgive yourself and others, may you have the insight to look at your own mistakes, strength to repent, and find means to atone for your them.

It also goes for those that can’t/won’t fast for any reasons.

1. No question it’s bad.
2. *Per Haaretz*, the IDF shoots at people in an extremely bad way of crowd control at the . (Armies are bad at that).
3. *Apparently* that starving child has genetic problems that make him more vulnerable than most. The hunger is real, the picture is not representative.
"I think it’s a pointless exercise that needlessly derails a simple truth that should horrify all of us: the Israeli military is literally shooting and killing starving people while they attempt to get food."
I Think It's Bad to Shoot at Starving Kids
Perhaps controversially.

She’s, most likely, not the first in this awful predicament. Please know an infant can be given the MMR vaccine as early as 6 months of age. This is important in areas with active transmission. Of course, speak to a pediatrician

my hottest educational take is that schools should actively, non-punitively teach students how to admit when they don't know something, aren't sure or have made a mistake, with various teaching frameworks adapted to support this ideal, because people who can't admit fault are breaking the world

TODAY is publication day for Herbert J. Levine's BLESSED ARE YOU WONDROUS UNIVERSE, a humanist non-theistic Jewish prayerbook!

It offers a much-needed bridge between secular and religious approaches to Judaism.

Every book published in the United States is sent to the Library of Congress. Also, if you are under 16 you cannot use the reading room or order books.
Reporter: The president fired the Librarian of Congress. Why?

Leavitt: There were quite concerning things she had done at the Library of Congress in the pursuit of DEI and putting inappropriate books in the library for children.

We are not under invasion.

There is no justification for suspending our constitutional rights.

Every single American should speak out against this, loudly and forcefully.
Stephen Miller: "The writ of habeas corpus can be suspended in a time of invasion. So I would say that's an option we're actively looking at."

If the @washingtonpost.com wanted to set its credibility on fire, this is what it would do.

ChatGPT cannibalized an actual reporter’s good work, turned it into a steaming pile of misinformation and then had the fucking nerve to slap the reporter’s name back on its bullshit.
When I took the history reporter job, I told my editor I would never "both sides" the Civil War, Confederates or slavery. I never did.

But here, ChatGPT (pic 1) has turned my work (pics 2,3) into whitewashed pablum and put MY FUCKING NAME on it.

I am livid, I am shaking. I don't know what to do.
