Are the Tigers going to rule next season! God I hope so!
BREAKING: Star left-hander Framber Valdez and the Detroit Tigers are in agreement on a three-year, $115 million contract, sources tell ESPN. Valdez, 32, gets the highest AAV ever for a left-handed pitcher as well as the highest for a Latin American pitcher. Huge move for Detroit.

Sourdough starter (13 years old last week) seems to be back to making good loafs. The last couple times I used it it had really chewed up the dough into something with no structure. Probably a combination of neglect and sloppiness on my part.

A little lopsided, but it’s back! #breadsky

Watching the Simpsons so much fully distorted my brain. Any Planet of the Apes reference makes me start humming Dr. Zaus.

It’s a wonderful movie, but maybe an even better musical?

In the 90s this would've been the organizing concept for a whole album by a NY rapper who smoked a ton of weed before going to the used bookstore.
a not insignificant number of people on Threads seem to believe the snow storm was The Government's attempt to refreeze the Leviathan, the world-eating serpent, which was getting loose (to eat the world, I assume)

I didn’t know they made a malt liquor like cider. Even the name reminds me of malt liquor classics. Would have been a regular player when I was an undergrad.
White Lightning (1993-2010): A hard "white cider"--a colorless cider made with apple pulp and corn syrup--sold primarily in the UK. It was noted for its low price and for being sold in 3-liter bottles. D/c in response to a national panic over teen drinking, it became synonymous with "social decay"

This is the most astonishing graph of what the Trump regime has done to US science. They have destroyed the federal science workforce across the board. The negative impacts on Americans will be felt for generations, and the US might never be the same again.

I get @theonion.com delivered to my work address. Since I work in a chemistry department I’m guessing people here think *Global Tetrahedron* is just some sort of weird chemistry journal. #chemsky

Is this what it feels like when you have a good mayor? I didn’t even hear the words waiters or haters.
Outside Gracie Mansion. This is his job. But dare I day it he seems genuinely affected and happy to be there. There’s potentially immense power in that.

I’m seeing posts from people (outside of MN) about how US citizens should carry their passports.

And let me say that *inside* MN, we are calmly responding to requests with: “No, I don’t have to show you any documentation.”

Because that’s how you protect everyone, regardless of immigration status.

Hot take: I think I like the special edition ending of Return of the Jedi more than the jub jub ending. I have a lot of nostalgia for jub jub, but I don’t think it’s as good a way to end the trilogy.
