Lets see how Canada is doing leading the world to a low carbon future... maybe a bit lower...
nope, lower, not seeing it yet. not yet.
Oh there we are at 9% (are these numbers right?)

The government keeps talking about protecting our EV production...

Could it be high prices?
#NewZealand manages to be ahead of...Albania

2023 we were doing so well. Sigh.

Futureproofing multifamily buildings with EV charging infrastructure is key to enable the full transition to EVs over the next 2-3 decades. With careful planning, these approaches can enable broader building decarbonization by reserving limited electrical capacity for heat pumps and other retrofits

Zeic.ca surveyed builders, architects etc..

Most feel that higher energy efficiency standards gave them a competitive advantage. NICE!

Look we're trying to quit.

Your air, our air, its all just air.
And those space pictures show it is a disturbingly thin layer. Could we maybe agree not to smoke right now?

Is it getting hot in here or is it just us?

C'mon Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan and New Brunswick.

Catch up. Quit coal. Enjoy cleaner air like the rest of us.
This is a special message to King Coal and his fossil fuel executive sponsors.
The fossil fuel industry knew 114 years ago, what we all know today.
These executives are all accomplices in the deliberate destruction of the world headed by King Coal.

Hey Fraser Valley & Climate Action people.

Do you know about the Zero Carbon Step Code?
www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/...

It is a clear pathway forward for cities to stop (mostly stop) the climate change causing pollution from many buildings.
Zero Carbon Step Code
The Zero Carbon Step Code is a tool for reducing emission from new buildings by adopting zero carbon systems. Learn about the code and compliance options.

Would you folks consider reporting on Nanaimo's continuous sidewalks and bike lanes?

The idea that pedestrians and bikes don't have to bump up and down for every driveway and street seems WONDERFUL. :-)

We can’t mop our way out of an overflowing bathtub.
We start by turning off the tap.

Climate change isn’t a mystery.
The tap is burning fossil fuels.

At the day job where I help improve IT services.
We don't try to improve everything. (too much to improve)
We FOCUS.
On high impact events.
On repeating events.

Sure we fix things that break, but we don't try to prevent something that has only ever happened once.

This is QUANTIFYING risk

You can't prove received wisdom wrong if you don't try... and you've got to give China credit for not being afraid to try. A step on the way to serious reduction of shipping emissions by 2050? Or an expensive experiment with niche coastal uses? Time will tell!
