RIP Claudia Cardinale. Much like Robert Redford, she was a rare case of a beautiful performer with a filmography full of bangers who did NOT become right-wing later in life. Here she is punching fascist Brigitte Bardot in the face in Les Pétroleuses (1971).

Why is it people who feel compelled to play music from their phones on public transport have the worst fucking taste?

Discussing this with @acereject.bsky.social earlier today, and I still think it beats the shite out of Enterprise's explanation
This was my headcanon for the change in the Klingons' makeup. Decades of mining Praxis led to radiation permeating the atmosphere or Qo'nos, slowly mutating Klingon DNA resurfacing prehistoric traits (TNG: Genesis), and the explosion eventually making it irreversible

80. Maskerade by Terry Pratchett
Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg visit the Ankh-Morpork Opera House to find Agnes Nitt, and get caught up in the hunt for the Opera Ghost
Terry reread, and The Phantom Of The Opera gets the Discworld treatment. The fatphobia hasn't aged well, but it's good otherwise

Jacob Phillips (c)
A CRIMINAL epic, with three journeys winding around each other for a decade
I don't know how much more I can say about both Criminal and the Brubaker/Phillips team, but they're masters of the craft and this is excellent

20 years after the 1st invasion, the Fey return to Blue Isle and Black King Rugad leads their attack on the island, while seeking his great-grandchildren
Continuing my read of the Fey, the return of war as Jewel's children reach adulthood, good stuff

Starting off, I know this is a me thing
But
I saw the trailers for One Battle After Another and Marty Supreme and there was no draw, at all
It might just be DiCaprio and Chalamet, or that the trailers weren't communicating the films well, but it's been odd hearing how good they are

But at what cost?
James Cameron is going to become the first director to make four $1 billion films in a row
