vscode + cline + llamacpp + qwen3-coder-next-Q6 + 3090 + 64gb system ram == very accurate ~25 tok/s agentic coding. best part about the local setup: if it fucks up, I don't have to pay for more tokens. also, since the risk is much lower, I don't have to think about prompts as hard.

tfw just bought an RTX3090 to use for local llm stuff, getting very usable performance and utility with continue + openwebui + gpt-oss:120b (33/67 GPU/CPU) aaaaaaaand my company just announced we're getting Claude licenses.

one of my kinda more crank, unworkable ideas is that there are jobs where the people who self-select into them are not the people who you want & that maybe we should just sortition people into those roles. like there are some things that attract people to policing that you don't want in cops.
