I missed the detail that Mark Carney ditched the luxury tax on private jets, yachts, and vehicles over $100,000 in the budget, though I also can’t say I’m surprised.

Yup. There’s a real dissonance watching MorningLive or Breakfast TV between the steady stream of collisions causing death, injury and commuter delay, and the ads featuring the very cars and pickups causing all of it.
Maybe the news doesn’t report about the real toll of car-dominant infrastructure because they’re too reliant on advertising money from car companies?

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

the bell still tolls.
My breath turns heavy
as we drift into the long cold night.
The Fitzgerald stirs beneath.
I harbor their echoes
and cradle her steel.
My waves bear the sorrow
of all I have taken.

the bell still tolls.
