universal literacy is a lofty goal and one we’ve been backsliding on for decades
i optimistically note that basically half of bluesky's daily users are posters, and this means the apparently catastrophically poor reading level at times may not be because bluesky is dumb but because this is what the lurkers were like on twitter, we just never noticed because they didn't post
