Is it a radical position that nobody, and especially not the government, should be celebrating a default of violence and killing? Even when it does seem justified, a government agent doing violence is an event we should deplore.

Of course, we see lots of unjustifiable violence right now.

This has been my position for ages, and I've never seen it from someone else. I feel N% less crazy (N a small number because the world right now is pretty crazy-making.)
Let me give you a thought experiment:

Imagine not just a ban on qualified immunity for authority, but a reversal; a new legal framework, under which authority bears greater responsibility than civilians in matters involving force—as it should.

Absolute Immunity
Alignment with supremacy is a vile choice. Raising the natural costs for those who make that choice by putting first things first.

I am, in fact, triggered by someone being murdered by the Gestapo and our government lying about it and celebrating the murder. It’s time for decent people to decide where they stand — with the Gestapo and its supporters, the juvenile shitposting government, or with America.
In response to a quote tweet of DHS that says “you guys killed an American citizen,” Greg Bovino replies: “Triggered much?”

Protest, whether polite or not, is a core free speech value. A law enforcement agent should, in a just world, take even a screaming double middle finger in stride and then de-escalate.

We don’t live in a just world. Please don’t try this, not because it’s wrong, but because it’s dangerous.

If ICE killer Ross was traumatized from a prior incident being dragged behind a car, the proper response is to stop him from roaming the streets while armed, not to "oh, ok" it when he murders someone.

JD Vance did not, as far as we know, literally fuck a couch. But I have no problem with promoting "couchfucker" as a colloquial term for "lying shitweasel."
JD Vance accuses the slain Renee Good of perpetrating "an attack on federal law enforcement, an attack on law and order, and attack on the American people"

"That woman was there to interfere with a legitimate law enforcement operation," he adds, repeatedly referring to her as "that woman"

Yes.
I refuse to stay silent while Secretary Noem breaks the rule of law and terrorizes our communities. I am introducing Articles of Impeachment against her for violating the public trust, obstructing Congress, and self-dealing. Read my full statement: robinkelly.house.gov/media-center...

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly (IL-02) announced plans to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem following the fatal shooting by an ICE officer in Minneapolis.

The “prosecute the former regime at every level” candidate has my vote in 2028.

I will, despite all of my misgivings about this, support any politicians in my sphere who make a policy of abolishing ICE and DHS, prosecuting the criminals doing murder in the name of the US, and sending a few folks who richly need it over to the Hague.
January 7, 2026 at 9:25 PM
I clearly remember a world before DHS and ICE. They need to be dismantled and the earth salted where they stood.

Cold-blooded murder, on camera, then brazenly lying about it, is not reformable.

Walz has already been politicked out. Time for a murder arrest -- he has nothing to lose now.

As I say every year, I don’t believe in waiting for New Year’s Day to make changes so I’m not a fan of resolutions. But as someone working in an industry that often goes on hiatus during the holidays, it’s a convenient time to change things anyway. So, this year’s coincidentally-timed new attempts:

It doesn't require "Trump Derangement Syndrome" to see that he is many of the things that are the worst in us. I reject the notion that it's acceptable for a leader to act like a petulant toddler because some people dislike him. I reject even further the general transactional disrespect.

This is a terrible article and the author should be embarrassed. This isn't a worker rights issue. Every job I've ever had included mandatory anti-harassment training making it crystal clear that racist remarks are grounds for immediate termination, full stop.

Re: the whole concept of "consumer choice in medicine"

In 2022, I had a pulmonary embolism. (Everything worked out fine and I recovered fully.) Not a case where "shopping" was practical; I couldn't stay conscious while standing to compare prices.

Healthcare is a need and a right, not a commodity.

This is facially incoherent and unconstitutional policy. Content moderation, by a private entity, of its own curated content, is not censorship. Editorial curation is itself the exercise of First Amendment rights.

(Yes, I realize offering a visa may have not-strictly-constitutional rules.)

Batch of holiday cider started; should be ready for bottling in a week or so and ready to drink maybe a week after that.

First holiday batch of egg nog is cooling. With bourbon, because bourbon nog > rum nog; it’s a scientifically-proven fact.

Things are far from perfect. We have sundry medical issues (joints were a bad idea), the house needs some work next year, the world is *gestures around with urgency*

But we have our family and fur children and tomorrow, so for that, I’m thankful.

This is facially untrue: seditious conspiracy maxes at 20 years.

You know what would be a capital event in the right jurisdictions? Murder, as in "ordering boats exploded without presenting even a shred of evidence why."

(The death penalty should be abolished.)
Trump posts again about Democrats, saying their behavior is “punishable by DEATH!”
