Fangirl. Slouchy human. Lover of trees.
I feel like the BBC does one of these pretty much every year, with the same 'shocking' discovery. Is it really a hidden culture at this point?

Not the actual first fic I read on AO3 because I am certain I read some before I got an account, as we all transitioned from LJ, but the first after I signed up.

FYI that I will not be 'verifying my identity' for the sake of skimming a few posts a day, so will likely be leaving this place if it turns out ignoring that nonsense makes it unusable.

At which point my only social media will be Tumblr, if you want to find me elsewhere.

Don't need a Visa for 15 days in Guatemala. Do need one for two hours changing planes in the US, and they're taking $20 off me.

Add it to the 'why the USA is the worst' list, I guess.

There's something that seems so wrong about getting a cold in the wake of a heatwave. I'm not a C19th gothic novelist, I know colds aren't caused by being cold and wet, and yet... you shouldn't get one after 2 days of sweating your tits off.

The worst thing* about a heatwave is that you're constantly drinking and you get so bored of it and yet! You're already thirsty again.

Very disconcerted by the ad in Superdrug that thinks I should get my dad Eros Energy for Father's Day.

What fucking bullshit is this? Telling gay groups who they’re allowed to include? Fuck you, EHRC. Fuck. You.

Don't tell anyone, but today's my birthday.

Writing a fic set in a royal court with a plethora of nobles, and Duchy keeps being autocorrected to Ducky. It's adding a layer of absurdity that I did not intend.

How is it already April??? Where did March go? I feel like I blinked and missed it.

Anyway! It's my birthday month now! Worship me, Bitches!!

Today is the one day a month I have to go into an office for work. Pre-pandemic, the idea of working from home was an unthinkable golden paradise, and yet now one day a month causes so much pathetic whining from my brain that I'm already sick of myself.

Even after checking the forecast three times, having the window open for an hour, and carefully evaluating the outfits of those outside, leaving the house without scarf, hat, gloves, extra jumper and the big coat is so nerve-wracking.

This was a fascinating read.
Two years ago, I discovered a love story hidden within Scott’s last Antarctic expedition—between two of his officers, Pennell and Atkinson. They survived the tragedy which took Scott’s life and shocked the world, but further dangers still lay ahead for them.

The Love Story Hiding in a Legendary Tragedy
Captain Robert Falcon Scott’s doomed journey to Antarctica captivated the world. But hidden within the legend was a story that has never been told—a love affair between two of the crew who survived.

This is particularly funny yo me as, when I was a teen, the local radio station whose area included where Craig David was from, always introduced his songs as being by 'Southampton's own Craig David' to the extent that we all just called him that. Even now it's what my brain calls him.

I don't want to talk about how many times I have casually gone to AO3 today only to remember it's currently offline. Probably says too much about my work ethic.
