I've just realised it's 2025 and yet I only have two items in my home that regularly featured in old cartoons: a sink plunger and an iron.
I feel like I immediately need to get an anvil and an enormous red stick of dynamite to fill the chasm that's suddenly opened up in my soul.

You’d hope that real journalists will be voluntarily handing back their press credentials, and that their newspapers or TV channels would be publishing front page articles explaining what a free press means in a democracy
