β€œWe’re hosting a convention for people to have fun but fun is not allowed in our hotel.”
This seems like a really long way to say "we really don't want you here anymore but we'll begrudgingly take your money until we successfully annoy you enough to GTFO."

Have any other hotels ever given a contract like this to con attendees?

I am going to get ALL of my body and facial hair removed, and very tempted to get the sides of my head lasered as well. I can't stand having any of it, especially on my face and the total amount of my life I have wasted shaving it daily.

I so need to get on with scheduling laser hair removal this year.

It occurs to me all the yelling at ICE in MPLS isn't merely funny. Getting made fun of like this is awful for morale. ICE is losing field officers faster than it can wave them through training, and a big part of it is how little of this these little weasels can take.
ICE at Midway Target and seem to possible be leaving. Lots of community members here

People really need to stop using shit to generate code, because the resulting code generated is, well... shitty!

Brand new stencil printer installed! We can now print down to the smallest CSP parts as well as 008005 passives. Alignment accuracy is +/-10 microns at 6 sigma. Crazy!! ❀️

This printer also closed-loops with the 3D Solder Paste Inspection machine to auto-tune XY and theta positioning to be perfect.

It's ALL a problem but working to remove the ability to wear masks is a powerful step in the direction of accountability, something severely needed right now.

Most general laser pointers are low power enough to be annoying but not generally dangerous. This is unfrotunatly several orders of magnitude more power which quickly becomes extremely hazardous to direct eye exposure.

Yep! But at least you can replace a camera.

Do you want perminant retinal damage? Because that's how you get permanent retinal damage.

This is beyond irresponsible behavior. Lasers should NEVER be pointing in to an audience like this.

It only takes a single bad eye strike to cause injuries to your vision which WILL NEVER HEAL.
Let's party on in the New Year!

Yes, those are absolutely lasers and someone is being recklessly irresponsible in not understanding the safety or legal aspects of this.

The wavelength doesn't matter as much in this case, the problem is collimation of the beam. This causes focusing down to a very tiny point on the retina. Halve the beam size, quadruple the tissue irradiance.

This risks instant, irreversible retinal damage. This is NOT something to be casual with.

JFC why are there lasers shining straight in to the audience?! This is extremely hazardous. Where is this happening?
January 9, 2026 at 6:30 PM
Yep, thanks for the daily reminder on how bad our country is.
