Fun fact: I have been rolling sushi for over a decade and have taught a fair number of friends how to do it, too! I love making sushi for folks when they come visit! <3

Here's another isopropyl alcohol burn, but at 1000fps and in a much taller bottle. The oscillation still occurs in the upper portion of the bottle but once it reaches the middle there isn't enough air exchange for the rapid burn and it slows to a crawl with distinct texture. #highspeed #phantom

If you put some isopropyl alcohol in a clean glass bottle, swish it around, then light it, you get a beautiful whoosh. Here's what it looks like at 2,400fps! The oscillation is from the rapid expand/expel/intake cycles of air to allow the proper ratio for the burn to continue. #highspeed #phantom

Thanks! I was very proud to be writing real-time, nodal based audio imagery synthesis code in C++ back in 2005 when the best we had was a Core2Duo processor! We had to write our own OpenGL GUI framework, too, because nothing would do what we needed it to, especially for "dark mode" applications.

In addition, Gerber data is presented with no ordering and it's necessary to identify common line start/end vertexes. This becomes an O(N^2) problem very quickly when you are talking *millions* of line ends, so Quad Tree acceleration to the rescue!

Brute force: ~18 hours
Quad Tree: only ~6 seconds!

There is a tricky bit processing necessary to generate polygon data base on how Gerber files work. All of the aperture trace strokes need to be converted programmatically in to to renderable geometry. That includes all of the work to manually tessellate and fill in the pie wedges on rounded corners.

During COVID one of my weekend projects (while learning C# better) was writing a fully interactive real-time renderer for Gerber files that uses Direct3D, which I had previously never worked with, only OpenGL. I got it working in about 2 days and the render speed is breathtaking even on potato GPUs.

Okay, I absolutely love this one! Forward-helix to rook CBR, alternatively known as a "UFO Piercing." ❤️

I am going to ask my piercer if this is possible to do with my current rook, as it's admittedly a bit on the boring side right now with just a curved barbell.

Besides the double earlobe gauges I'm starting in Dec I'm heavily considering doing something else fun with my industrial. I've considered doubling it up but I think I love this inspiration picture more - a unique arrangement of a CBR around the industrial along with the anti-tragus barbell.

Playing with sizing and color variations for what I want to eventually do! Looks like I'll probably go start my ear gauging adventure the second weekend of December! ❤️

Trying to get a feel for sizings of piercing jewelery so of course Solidworks to the rescue for visualization! 00g tunnel, 8g ring, 16mm diameter, 9mm ball.

Good! The city needs less convicted felons residing in it. You're neither qualified to hold office nor to raise children you disgraceful piece of shit.

Felt blurry, might delete later!

Sometimes the lighting is perfect and you catch a surprising reflection. I feel like I'm finally making solid progress again, but looking forward to really leaning out again in the spring! #bodybuilding #fitnessfurs
